Do I look the same or different from my picture first posted after arriving at the Gerson Clinic here in Mexico?

In this picture are members of my healing team—me, Charlotte Gerson, Linda Kirby and Dr. Phil Rothenberg. By the way, make no mistake about it, because I sure haven’t, you are a big part of my healing team.

Gerson Healing Team

I am on my 3rd week here and will be returning to Houston early next Wednesday, July 21st. That’s when the healing program takes on its own momentum. I’ve been preparing, learning the program and clearing some initial challenges since I’ve been here. More on the challenges I’ve faced the last few days in a moment.

But first, as they say, a word for my healers. Robert and Cynthia evangelized the Gerson Therapy long before I knew I was sick and modeled it for over 2 years. Heck, I bought the Gerson recommended, expensive by-the-way, juicer about that time. I guess I knew subconsciously I needed to prepare for what was coming even though I was not ready to bite the bullet and make the commitment to my health.

I’ve learned that cancer continuously attacks our bodies over our live times. Our body’s defenses, until jeopardized by lifestyle, are sufficient to keep it from taking hold. Once it does take hold, the “gestation” period before detection can be 5 to 10 years. So, I have been carrying this disease for quite a while now. Many of you have been trying to tell me—Cynthia, Robert, Katy Briscoe, Allie Kent, just to name a few. Thank you for being on my healing team and attempting to support my early detection.

Bringing a companion to the Gerson Clinic to support one’s healing is part of their process. I’ve had the perfect companions for each of the 3 weeks that I have/continue to be here. First, Robert got me here in one piece and with 11 days of therapy under my belt when I hit the ground. God love you Robert, and Cynthia, for I sure do.

Then Philip Rothenberg, M.D., my dear sweet kind brother, relieved Robert for the second week. And the timing could not have been more perfect. Dr. Phil showed just when I hit the wall. And I needed someone who loved me, understood what I wanted and could bridge the allopathic-homeopathic paradigm.

Now what I’m about to say is more of a picture than an accurate detailed description of what happened. That’s my caveat for you medical types. Plus, I was pretty sick, still don’t quite understand the terms and everything that happened, but I can convey the big picture. The liver’s bile duct and the pancreatic duct merge as they enter the intestines. The tumor on my pancreatic duct was pressuring the duct and my bile was backing up. I got really nauseas and could not eat. Phil later confessed that he did not know if I was going to make it when he first saw me.

They called in the specialists and Phil was with me every step of the way. First, an internist started mega-dosing me on stuff to shrink the inflammation of the pancreatic tumor and my liver. Plus, they pumped me with IV’s to restore my depleted system. The good news is that within about 24 hours my energy and appetite returned. The mega-dosing worked.

Then, they brought in a specialist to do an ultrasound to determine the long term risk of the pancreatic tumor to occlude (that’s doctor speak for obstruct, see I’m catching on) the duct. The way the pancreatic tumor is growing is such that the risk of that happening is very small. Good news! Of course, the Gerson Therapy will eventually heal and dissolve the tumors. But in the meantime, part of the healing process is that edema (the gathering of water around the tumor) will cause it to enlarge as it clears. So keeping the duct clear as it heals is important. It appears as though it will be a manageable process.

The ultrasound confirmed multiple lesions on the right lobe of the liver compatible with metastasis. The largest is about 7 mm in diameter. I was first very concerned about the liver but as I learn about its regenerative capacity and the Gerson Therapy’s attention to the liver, I feel confident it, and I, will heal.

The ultrasound, along with a pancreatic cancer marker blood test they gave me, will give me good “markers,” or starting point, to measure my progress over the months to come. It’s gonna be a ride!

Now, Linda is here. The registered nurse who loves me and attends to the minutest details will help me carry home all the specifications I need for my long term care. I have to prepare specific juices at specific times with specific supplements 13 times per day. I have to prepare 3 special food meals every day. I have to make and wear a liver pack every day. I have to prepare and give myself shots every day. Precision is critical and no one brings precision to my life like Linda.

God is good and is watching over me!!!

The Gerson Therapy is simple but genius. It works on a very simple theory. Over a lifetime, toxification and deficiency impair the body’s natural and miraculous defense systems—primarily immune, enzyme, hormone, essential organ and mineral. The decline is, contrary to popular belief, not age-related, but lifestyle. As you begin to study and compare the “Western lifestyle” to the rest of the world, it is obvious that the so-called chronic, age-related, diseases are because of the way we live.

Conventional medicine focuses on eliminating the symptom of cancer—the tumor—by cutting it out (surgery), poisoning it (chemotherapy) or burning it (radiation). Even if they are successful in removing the symptom—the tumor—it usually returns, many times with a vengeance over the next few years because the cause of the cancer has not been addressed or healed.

Gerson, and other alternative, more homeopathic therapies address the cause of the cancer—an impaired defense system. It heals repairs and revitalizes the natural defense system and the body’s defense system heals the cancer.

But that’s just the beginning. With a restored defense system, the body is now protected and empowered to deal with all other chronic, “age-related” diseases—diabetes, hearing, sight and memory loss, arthritis’s, etc.

Here’s my plan:

1. 3 to 6 months: Detox my body and begin to restore its natural defense system.

2. 1 Year: Heal the cancer.

3. 2 Years: Totally restore and revitalize my natural defenses for good health and an active life.

4. Age 90’s: On the day of my choosing, I will invite you over to celebrate my transition. It will be a party. So, get yourself healthy so you can be there.

Especially in the first year, I am prepared for several healing crisis/cycles in which I will be sick and useless as my body continually dumps loads of toxins and disease. I am also prepared for it to be easy. But I know I must muster my resources for healing in the months to come. I also intend to be productive and participate in life.

My participation with you in this blog has been a “life saver.” You have been playing your part in my healing by loving me and reading and commenting on this blog. Having been a lurker myself in the past, I invite you lurkers to come on out. You have something only you can contribute. As I read your comments, I am so moved, educated and inspired.

I also appreciate all the phone calls, texts and emails. I apologize for not having the resources to personally respond as much as I would like. Just stay tuned to the blog and comment there if you feel appropriate.

Well that’s not it for now, but it’s all I have the time and energy to say at the moment.

Loving you with all my heart, Michael
